Assigned Reading 12 Social Tagging

Social tagging creates bookmarks for web sites and saves them online for a researcher/person.  The tags include keywords and brief descriptions.  Some sites allow for sharing and discovering new sites.  Folksonomy is the collaboration of web sharing.

Social tagging encourages users to create their own controlled vocabulary.

This also bring the grey literature to light--that is information created by scholars and experts that is not easily found.

I like that the sites were give to download and explore.
